Sociological Analysis of Mirza Ahmad Davashi's Poems Based on Henry Zalamansky's Approach

Abstract

The last century was a time of various changes in the lives of Iranians, especially in the Kurdistan region. Therefore, artists of every society, due to their delicate and sensitive souls, were more affected by these changes and transformations of the last century than other members of society. Mirza Ahmad Davashi is one of the contemporary poets who, as a part of this society, was affected by the events around him and has reflected these events and developments in his poems with the help of imagination and poetic nuances. Therefore, the present article, using a descriptive and analytical method based on library studies, has conducted a sociological study of Mirza Ahmad Davashi’s poems based on the approach of Henry Zalamansky. The studies show that, with his human understanding, he felt the corruption and bitterness of society and expressed it to the audience with artistic language. The main political, social and cultural themes of Davashi’s poetry are; It refers to World War II, the Yellow Crescent War, the period of transition from Qajar to Pahlavi political rule, the situation of the Kurdistan and Kermanshah regions in an important and politically and socially turbulent historical period, and the expression of social criticism.
