Abstract

One of the remarkable areas for researchers is to survey the color terms concerning their descriptive and metaphorical meanings. This study aims to investigate the color archetype in the poetry of Akhavan from a cognitive perspective. In this study, it was shown that color as life is a reaction of imaginary imagery that expresses the facts of life through poetry. The nature of the methodology of the present study which is qualitative type is descriptive-analytic, and the data has been collected from the poems of Akhavan. The authors were trying to show how and in what sense the focal colors have been used in these poems. For this reason, due to the limited volume of the paper, 22 verses of the Akhavan poems were randomly selected and examined. The findings of the research showed that each of the main colors in their distinct and specific meaning expresses the states, feelings, and emotions that individuals have in themselves covertly, and poetry expresses it.
